The age structure in Europe is changing more and more towards an ageing population and the number is estimated to rise sharply over the next decades. With age, it comes an increased risk of needing care. At the same time, Europe is confronted with a shrinking workforce, as well as labour and skills shortages. To overcome this situation, one possibility is to involve migrants and refugees in the care sector.

In this light and for these reasons, MIGRANTS IN CARE aims to elaborate innovative educational materials and accompanying support documents for their transfer into other VET organisations and companies in the care sector. In detail, the three project partners from Germany, Austria and Spain develop:
– a MOBILE LEARNING APP for learning work based situations in the daily care sector, aiming at improving the employability. The app is based on B2 language level and available in German, English, French, with support languages in Arabic, Serbian and Turkish. For feedback to our Mobile Learning App, please click here.
– POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS, including guidelines for stakeholders and professionals to better support migrants and refugees in continuous vocational and educational training (VET).
